At Punahou School, Growth Coaches will play a vital role in the Faculty Growth and Development program that will support faculty in their professional learning and growth. The Growth Coach will collaborate extensively with the Director of Teaching and Learning to support faculty in goal setting, action planning, learning, and project management. The Growth Coach will lead regular cohort meetings of faculty groups, will provide feedback for teachers based on class observations, and will meet 1:1 with teachers regularly to support learning, reflection, growth, and renewal. The role will be as a coach, facilitator, and faculty partner to help the teacher achieve actionable goals aligned with the mission, values, and K-12 Learning Outcomes of the school. Job duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

• Facilitate the professional development of teachers
• Support and guide teachers to set and achieve growth goals aligned with program review.
• Co-create growth plans with clear benchmarks set throughout the year
• Oversee teachers’ progress toward determined goals
• Communicate research-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance and engagement
• Identify instructional strengths and effective practices.
• Observe and provide feedback to teachers to guide them in their growth
• Provide assistance in researching instructional and/or curriculum issues
• Employ effective questioning to lead teachers to greater depth of self-awareness
• Build community among a cohort of teachers
• Facilitate regular cohort meetings of teachers using protocols and coaching strategies
• Utilize data for informed decision-making
• Continue to develop professionally and research best practices for teaching and learning
• Collaborate with the Director of Teaching and Learning on a regular basis to align coaching with the goals of each division’s Principal and the goals of the Center for Teaching and Learning
• Cultivate positive relationships with teachers and administrators
  
  

Scheduling Details

• Work Year: 9 Month
• School Year: 2025 - 2026
• Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• Faculty Salary Range*: $58,380 - $118,097
• Punahou School offers a comprehensive total rewards program that includes competitive pay and benefits. The pay rate, if displayed, is the minimum hourly rate for the position. Pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors such as knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant training and experience, and internal equity.

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field, Master’s preferred.
• Five (5) years of classroom teaching experience.
• Deep and broad professional development experiences.
• Experience as a mentor, coach, or facilitator of adults.
• Experience with leading individuals and teams of adults.
