Job summary

Harbor, headquartered in San Francisco, seeks a strategic leader to own how the company presents itself to the world. You will oversee research, industry benchmarks, and public communications to drive trust and understanding of AI agent risk.

You will build a partner program for agents on major platforms, craft demand engines for enterprise buyers, and translate customer learnings into frameworks and standards to influence the market.

Qualifications

  • You have grown something from zero where the buyer did not know they had the problem yet.
  • You write clearly and fast, and you have the judgment to know when a spreadsheet, a report or a dinner is the right instrument.
  • You are as comfortable reading a risk framework as you are reading a funnel.
  • You run experiments, measure them honestly, and kill what does not work.
  • You can speak to a Chief Risk Officer without a deck and hold the room.

Responsibilities

  • Own Harbor's narrative and make it travel: research reports, benchmarks, post-mortems of public agent failures, talks and press.
  • Build and run the agent-platform partner program, so that companies building agents on major platforms can get them measured and insured from day one.
  • Design and run the demand engine for a long, high-trust enterprise sale: events, content, communities, outbound programs, and the measurement to know what works.
  • Turn what Underwriting and Engineering learn from customers into material the market can use: frameworks, guides, calculators, standards.
  • Work directly with the founders on launches, positioning and the brand.

Job description

About Harbor

Harbor is insurance for the agentic economy. Banks, insurers, hospitals and law firms are handing real decisions to AI agents: approving loans, pricing policies, moving money, advising customers, thousands of times a day. When one gets it wrong, nobody knows who is liable, and insurers are excluding AI from existing policies because there is no claims history to price it.

We fix that. Our platform finds every agent a company runs, measures its operational, security and regulatory risk against a framework mapped to NIST AI RMF, SR 26-2 and the EU AI Act, and blocks the decisions that break the company's rules before they go through. Then we insure the risk that remains, with our own money behind the answer.

We emerged from stealth in October 2026 with $10M in seed funding from Base10 Partners, Abstract and 8VC. Our four co-founders met at Stanford, and the team includes former founders, IMO and IOI medalists, professional athletes and competitive programming champions. We are headquartered in San Francisco with a team across the United States and Europe.

What we share is a way of working. Everyone here thinks like a founder, owns outcomes rather than tasks, and moves fast because our customers cannot wait. And we are good people to each other. We would rather pass on a brilliant hire than lose that.

About the role

Harbor is creating a category. Nobody searches for "agent insurance" yet. Your job is to make the risk of AI agents legible to the people who will have to answer for it. You will own how Harbor shows up in the world, from the research we publish to the partner program that puts Harbor inside the platforms agents are built on.

What you will do
  • Own Harbor's narrative and make it travel: research reports, benchmarks, post-mortems of public agent failures, talks and press.

Who we are looking for
  • You have grown something from zero where the buyer did not know they had the problem yet. Early-stage B2B, ideally selling to regulated industries.

Nice to have
  • Experience in insurance, fintech, security or AI infrastructure.

  • Partner or ecosystem programs you built.

  • Spanish or another European language. Many of our early customers are in Europe and Latin America.

How we work
  • Founder mentality. Everyone owns a piece of the company, not a job description. If something is broken and nobody owns it, you own it.

  • Ownership over outcomes. You decide, you ship, you answer for the result. There are no layers between you and the people whose agents we insure.

  • High pace. We are growing fast and we like it that way. We make decisions in days, ship in weeks, and fix what we got wrong just as quickly.

  • Good hearts. We are direct and demanding, and we are kind. We help each other win and we tell each other the truth.

  • We write things down. Decisions, post-mortems and specs live in documents, not in meetings.

  • We hold ourselves to the standard we sell. Our own agents run on Harbor.

  • In person in San Francisco. We think the first years of a company are built in the same room.

What we offer
  • Competitive salary and meaningful early-stage equity.

  • Medical, dental and vision for you and your dependents.

  • Flexible paid time off, with a real expectation that you take it.

  • Hardware of your choice.

  • Relocation support to San Francisco.

How we hire

Four steps, two weeks. An intro call with a founder, a working session on a real problem from our roadmap, conversations with the team, and references. We make decisions quickly and tell you where you stand at every step.
