Activity Therapist – Per Diem

Our medical staff consists of psychiatrists who average 20 years of practice at our facility, providing a solid and trusted foundation for our patient‑focused approach to behavioral healthcare. We treat primary psychiatric and substance abuse disorders and constantly strive to meet the needs of our communities with treatment that addresses individualized behavioral health needs. We stand ready to provide compassionate care through inpatient treatment and a strong continuum of aftercare services, community‑based programs, and day treatment.

The Activity Therapist is an important member of Arbour Hospital's inpatient multidisciplinary treatment team. The Group Therapist provides expressive arts therapy, psychoeducational groups, and recreational activities on our inpatient psychiatric units.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial activity therapy assessment to develop appropriate treatment goals
• Facilitate 4 groups per day
• Complete group documentation and communicate with other members of the treatment team via treatment planning and team meetings
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in social work, mental health counseling, or a related field required
• 6 months experience as a group leader in a psychiatric hospital, partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient treatment program preferred
