HRI Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking an Activity Therapist for our inpatient psychiatric units. This full-time 40-hour position focuses on delivering highly individualized care to an acutely ill patient population in a Brookline, MA setting near Boston University.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s in human services related field required; Art Therapy, Music Therapy or other expressive therapy specialty preferred; OR Bachelor’s degree + MT-BC
• License: LCSW, LMHC, LICSW, or OT preferred
• Experience: One year inpatient clinical experience preferred; Six months prior experience as a group leader preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate assigned treatment groups to meet the needs of various functioning levels/diagnostic categories
• Use interviewing techniques and screening tools to assess functional level of patients
• Identify patients’ assets and problem areas and collaborate on goals
• Collaborate with patients in goal-setting and with the inter-disciplinary team
• Recommend activities for goal attainment and help patients select groups and activities
• Complete daily notes for each group and support inpatient social work when needed
• Assist with clinical assessments and discharge planning as needed

HRI Hospital is seeking an Activity Therapist for our inpatient psychiatric units. This is a highly satisfying opportunity for a clinical professional who thrives on providing highly individualized care to a very acute patient population. This is a full time, 40 hour per week position.

HRI Hospital is 66-bed psychiatric facility with adult inpatient services and several partial hospitalization programs. As an Activity Therapist, you will:
