Job summary

Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS) seeks a Group Therapist - PRN to provide psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic treatment for pediatric, adolescent and adult patients through regular group sessions designed to meet diverse needs.

The role involves guiding and directing participation, addressing group dynamics, and documenting notes while ensuring confidentiality. Collaboration with the treatment teams and supervision is expected to support quality care and adherence to policies.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field and/or certified or licensed in a clinically related field.
• Prior experience providing group facilitation. Experience working with a psychiatric mental health population preferred.
• Must have knowledge of group process, dynamics, and group safety precautions. Knowledge in both process and psychoeducation group facilitation. Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy theory and intervention.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic treatment through regular group therapy sessions for pediatric, adolescent and adult patients.
• Document group notes including content, observations, and progress toward treatment goals.
• Maintain open communication with the Director of the program, milieu management and treatment teams to support quality service delivery and adherence to the daily programming schedule.
