Job summary

The Jewish Community Center Association of Indianapolis Inc is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor in Indianapolis, IN. You will teach learn-to-swim classes and private lessons for children and adults, schedule private sessions, and model water safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in swim coaching or teaching.
• Ability to follow an emergency action plan.
• Friendly, professional, patient and empathetic attitude.
• Team player with a customer-focused mindset.
• CPR/AED and first-aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Teach learn-to-swim classes and private lessons (children and adults).
• Schedule private lessons directly with participants.
• Be a role model for water safety.
• Work with participants to set and achieve goals.
• Model the JCC Internal Service Standards of Respect, Gratitude, Communication, The Golden Rule, and Ownership/Accountability.

Salary Range: $12.00 To $20.00 Hourly

What you’ll be doing

• Teach learn-to-swim classes and private lessons (children and adults)

Work Schedule

Variable

Exposure to chlorinated water of varying temperatures, outdoor weather elements including high temperatures and bright sunlight, wind, light rain. Must be able to visionally see and hear swimmers and tolerate noise. Must be able to enter/exit pool using ladder and lift up to 50 lbs (and/or assist with lifting greater weights).
