The Learning Lamp in Johnstown, PA seeks a Group Supervisor to oversee our child care program. You will supervise activities from 6 AM to 6 PM, support staff, and ensure child safety in a collaborative environment.

Requirements include a relevant bachelor’s or associate’s degree with specified experience, plus required clearances, CPR, and health checks. Competitive hourly pay and benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or human services.
• Or a bachelor’s degree with 30 credit hours in related fields and 1 year experience with children.
• Or an associate’s degree with 2 years of experience with children.
• Or an associate’s degree with 30 credit hours and 3 years of experience with children.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
• Supervise indoor and outdoor activities, maintaining a secure environment.
• Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, and basic care routines.
• Foster independence and encourage self-help skills appropriate to age.
• Follow the daily schedule and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Support classroom staff with activities and developmental experiences.
• Maintain positive communication with families and staff.
• Encourage positive behavior through patient redirection and reinforcement.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the classroom and facility.
• Document daily activities, incidents, and observations as needed.
• Promote positive relationships with families through professional communication.
• Be flexible and available for shifts as needed, including summers and holidays.
