Job summary

United Neighborhood Centers of NEPA in Scranton, PA is seeking a Child Care Teacher (Group Supervisor) to coordinate the development of children in a community program. The role includes supervising, curriculum planning, and collaborating with staff.

Associates in Early Childhood Education is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred, and experience in a child care setting is desirable. Hours include full and part-time options with morning/afternoon shifts.

Qualifications

• Associates in Early Childhood Education is required.
• Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
• Experience working with children in a child care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
• Plan age-appropriate curriculum in detail for assigned class that helps each child develop to the fullest in each area of development.
• Implement the daily program with the help of an assistant or aide if applicable.
• Maintain an environment that helps each child to have a positive experience throughout the day.
• Treat all children with dignity and respect and allow for individual differences.
• Provide an atmosphere of acceptance and caring for each child and show as much individual attention as possible to each child.
• Maintain a friendly, professional relationship with all families and staff.
• Keep the classroom, storage rooms, and bathroom clean, neat, and orderly. All staff share housekeeping responsibilities.
• Conduct individual conferences with parents of each child as needed.

This position is located in Scranton, PA.

Hours: Full and Part-time opportunities available

Options for schedule/hours:

30.5 hours/week: 6:30-8:30am OR 7-9am and 2-6pm (1:30-6 on Tuesdays)

20.5 hours/week: 2-6pm (1:30-6 on Tuesdays)

Position Summary:
