Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) is seeking qualified and enthusiastic individuals to join Forensic Services!

The Forensics Services campus in St. Peter is comprised of the Forensic Mental Health Program and the Forensic Nursing Home. Forensics Services provides mental health evaluation and treatment services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who present a risk to public safety. This is a safe and secure treatment environment.

The Forensic Services Security Department is looking for an Assistant Group Supervisor!

The Assistant Group Supervisor will provide direction and leadership across Forensic Services. This role will help ensure quality of care in a safe and secure environment.

Responsibilities May Include
  • Supervise Forensic Mental Health Program staff
  • Operate as Administrator on Duty
  • Develop procedures within FMHP
  • Assess qualifications of candidates and hire employees, manage employee performance
  • Establish service delivery expectations as well as the safety and security of the facility as defined by program policies and procedure.
Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must have:

  • One (1) year supervisory experience in a therapeutic, residential, or corrective environment.
  • Two (2) years lead work or professional experience in a therapeutic, residential, or corrective environment providing counseling, rehabilitative patient care, or direction of client care programs.
  • Three (3) years experience in a therapeutic, residential, or corrective environment providing counseling, rehabilitative patient care, or direction of client care programs.

A Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Rehabilitation Therapy, Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field may be substituted for six (6) months of experience OR one (1) year of supervisory experience may be substituted for a maximum of 6 months of experience.

OR an equivalent combination of the above.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience utilizing and/or managing security systems or related technology in a secure or locked setting including:
    • Utilizing video surveillance systems
    • Managing access control systems
    • Managing two-way radio systems and utilizing them for emergency response
    • Experience with electronic monitoring of individuals including the use of GPS
  • Lead projects from assignment and planning through deployment, including:
    • identifying schedules and scopes
    • budget estimations
    • implementation plans and risk mitigation needs
  • A background that includes training others on systems, processes, or techniques
  • Ability to adapt their leadership style based on the situation
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment
