Job summary

The Emerge Center in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a Group Speech-Language Tech to support licensed SLPs during group therapy sessions for children. You will help prepare materials, assist with data collection, and ensure a safe, engaging environment.

Strong teamwork, ability to follow directions, and a basic understanding of child development are valued. HS graduate with enrollment in related coursework preferred.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or higher education.
• Enrolled in related, pre-professional coursework.
• No prior experience required.
• Experience with children preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follow all instructions and guidelines outlined by SLP in charge of each particular group session
• Arrive on time and remain with the group until shift ends
• Assist the SLP with maintaining safety and order within the classroom
• Assist with data-taking and prepare materials for group sessions
• Support SLP with facilitation of play skills and peer interaction
• Refer parent questions to the licensed SLP and maintain confidentiality
