Job summary

MVP Sports Clubs is seeking a Group Exercise Reformer Pilates Instructor in Rockford, MI to lead engaging classes in a safe, welcoming environment. The role reports to the Group Exercise Manager and requires certification and prior teaching experience.

Responsibilities include class preparation, safe demonstrations, attendance tracking, and maintaining studio cleanliness. The position emphasizes teamwork and adherence to club policies, with opportunities for training and growth.

Qualifications

• Current 200–500 hour certification from Balanced Body, Peak Pilates, STOTT, BASI, or other Accredited Certifying Body.
• Minimum of one year of group exercise teaching experience.
• CPR/First Aid certification; if missing, MVP will provide training within 60 days.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to design and instruct classes safely and with quality per industry standards.
• Physical ability to bend, lift up to 40 lbs, stand and move during classes.

Responsibilities

• Lead each group exercise class format as required by MVP Sports Clubs or certifying body.
• Authentically demonstrate movements and maintain safety in instruction.
• Present a positive, encouraging demeanor to facilitate participant success.
• Maintain knowledge of theoretical concepts and stay current with trends.
• Maintain certifications and membership in professional organizations.
• Arrive early, prepare music and programming, start and end class on time.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure studio is clean and safe.
• Manage equipment usage and storage; resolve member concerns appropriately.
• Substitute classes as needed and communicate with Group Exercise Manager.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in department events.

Education
