Job summary

HRG is seeking a detail-oriented Group Manager | Site Design for our State College, PA office. This leadership role drives site design across projects, coaching teams to deliver quality civil engineering work and superior client service.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in land development, a PA PE or Landscape Architect license, and strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills, with a track record in budgeting and client relations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • PA PE License and/or Landscape Architect License.
  • 7+ years in subdivision, land planning, and land development engineering.
  • Project management and supervision experience.
  • Understanding of municipal review and ordinance processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint and engineering apps.
  • Experience in client relations, budgeting, and presentations.

  • Inspire and coach group members to enhance employee-owner culture and drive engagement in professional development.
  • Ensure timely and superior project delivery while collaborating across service groups.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure long-term partnerships and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Coaching:Inspire and coach group members to enhance our employee-owner culture and drive engagement in their professional development
  • Project Management:Ensure timely and superior project delivery while collaborating across service groups
  • Client Relations:Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure long-term partnerships and satisfaction
  • Financial Oversight:Manage project budgets, prioritize workloads, and ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Collaboration:Work closely with Operations and Service AVPs to address staffing, resource allocation, and operational efficiency
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Pennsylvania P.E. Licenseand/or Landscape Architect License
  • 7+ years in subdivision, land planning, and land development engineering including site layout and design, grading, utility design, storm water management, erosion control, and preparation of permit applications and engineering reports
  • Project management and project team supervisory experience
  • Understanding of municipal review, approval process, and ordinance application is required
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Basic knowledge of computerized project management systems such as Deltek Vantagepoint and various engineering applications required
  • Experience in client relations, proposal preparation, project budgeting, and public presentations
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication, planning, and organizational skills
  • Effective utilization of common business platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting tools, etc.
  • Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices as necessary, which may include overnight stays
  • Valid US Driver’s License is required
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
