Job summary

ECS Limited in Knoxville seeks an experienced Group Manager to lead our geotechnical and construction materials teams. You will oversee projects, staff, and day-to-day operations for the local office, ensuring quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

You will mentor junior staff, recruit as needed, review technical reports, support marketing and business development, and collaborate with senior leadership to grow the branch.

Qualifications

• 8 years of related experience.
• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university.
• If driving for ECS, a valid driver’s license is required.
• Proficient with geotechnical principles and applications.
• Experience in laboratory testing, construction observation, and field quality assurance testing.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong project management and marketing skills.
• Leadership qualifications and business development orientation.

Responsibilities

ECS Limited is seeking an experienced engineering leader to manage our Knoxville office. As the Group Manager, you will oversee engineering projects, staff, business development, and day-to-day operations for the branch.

• Requires a commitment to lead and mentor a team of geotechnical and construction materials engineers and project managers
• Oversee and manage all laboratory operations
• Oversee projects and perform technical report reviews, prepare proposals and management of the departments and group related P&L
• Assist other staff in marketing our services by maintaining and developing client interactions
• Interact with senior staff members and mentor junior staff members
• Assist with recruiting and maintaining an adequate staff level in your group

Qualifications

• 8 years of related experience
• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university
• If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver’s license is required
• Proficient with geotechnical principles and applications
• Have practical experience in conducting laboratory testing, construction observation, and field quality assurance testing
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong project management and marketing skills
• Must possess leadership qualifications and be business development oriented
