Job summary

The Kleingers Group is seeking a Licensed Professional Surveyor to lead the Louisville survey group, overseeing production, budgets, and schedules while ensuring professional standards and policy adherence.

The role includes day-to-day management of the team, coordination with clients and stakeholders, and collaboration with other departments to promote services. Kentucky licensure is required for this leadership position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, day-to-day guidance to the survey group.
  • Oversee training, goal setting, and performance accountability.
  • Maintain engagement and retention of staff and stay current on surveying topics.
  • Coordinate with Department Director and act as primary client contact when needed.
  • Support business development and maintain external professional networks.
  • Review and sign survey plats/reports; ensure compliance with laws.

Job description

The Kleingers Group is looking for a licensed Professional Surveyor to serve as Survey Group Leader for our Louisville office. This position is responsible for leading and managing the survey group’s production of projects, within budget and schedule, while utilizing applicable technology and adhering to defined professional standards, as well as company policies and procedures. This role is responsible for overseeing the group’s work done on a day-to-day basis and the quality of the final product. This role will typically work on several concurrent projects and frequently has project management responsibilities. When project management responsibilities are assigned, will be the principal communications link between the firm, the client, and other stakeholders. A Professional Land Survey license (Kentucky) is required for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional, technical, day-to-day support, guidance, and input to the group and other project team members as appropriate.
  • Supervision of the group including training, clarity of expectations, setting goals & objectives, and holding employees accountable for performance.
  • Responsible for keeping team fully engaged with focus on retention of successful employees.
  • Stay in touch with legislative, technical, and professional topics that affect the survey group.
  • Regularly and effectively communicate with Department Director.
  • Conduct and oversee project planning and analysis.
  • Serve as primary client contact and project manager as needed.
  • Assist Business Development efforts by participating in presentations, interviews, or other activities to showcase technical expertise.
  • Build and improve external corporate image by active participation in appropriate organizations or networking events.
  • Promote other internal service lines to existing and potential clients including engineering design, landscaping design, and roadway/transportation design.
  • Review, sign and seal any survey plats or reports prepared in accordance with law.
  • Responsible for QA/QC of all groups work product.
  • Meet or exceed financial and performance metrics for the group.
  • Provide recommendations to improve the production process, as needed.
Qualifications
  • Current Professional Kentucky Survey License
  • Minimum 5 consecutive years surveying experience including 2 years successfully leading production and coordinating technical activities.
