Job summary

DeKalb Health seeks a Group Leader to support licensed school-age childcare programs under the supervision of the Site Lead, working with youth to model positive behavior and supervise activities at the McPherson program.

You will collaborate with staff, attend orientation, and help implement planned activities while demonstrating professionalism and reliability in a busy community setting.

Description

ENERAL FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the Program Director and/or Coordinator, the Group Leaders work under a Site Lead and provide direct service to participants in Child Care licensed school age programs. The primary role of a Group Leader is to serve as a role model for youth, providing positive interaction and engagement throughout the program supervising and leading activities with an assigned group of children.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

1. Must be able to routinely perform the following moderate physical activities; climb, bend, stoop, kneel, twist,
reach with hands, sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, have finger
dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear, and have visual acuity
2. Must demonstrate a high level of maturity, patience, dependability, sound judgment, motivation, and desire to work with all ages, especially youth
3. Must always present a neat and professional appearance

Job Requirements:

2. Must attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire
3. Complete Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid, KDHE Health History, Site Orientation, and other mandatory training in accordance with Conditions of Employment
4. Learn all emergency procedures and action plans for the branch and assigned location(s) as necessary
5. Understand and abide-by all policies and procedures as set forth by the association and in compliance with KDHE School Age Program regulations
6. Maintain consistent on-time attendance arriving at scheduled work site prior to the start of shifts and ready to work on time for the full program schedule
7. Ability to complete training hours outside of the regular work schedule; some evening and weekends required for training and staff meetings as assigned
