Job summary

A national association for youth development is seeking a Group Leader based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role involves assisting in the operation of School Age Education programming, serving as an instructor, and ensuring child safety. Candidates must have a high school diploma and experience with children, along with the ability to lead diverse groups. Must be flexible and enthusiastic in engaging with youth and their families. Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous working experience with children is preferred.
  • Must obtain CPR-Pro, AED, First Aid, and Shaken Baby Certifications within 90 days of hire.
  • Willing to learn or has knowledge of state licensing for Group Child Care and Youngstar.
  • Willing to learn or understand state licensing for Group Child Care and Youngstar.
  • Complete staff file requirements within the specified timeframe.

Job description

Under the direction of the School Age Education Director and in accordance with Association policies, the Group Leader will be responsible to assist in the operation of all School Age Education programming. The Group Leader serves as an instructor and role model to program participants, participates in the planning and implementation of high-quality programs by taking responsibility for each child’s safety and well‑being, engaging families and school staff, while complying with licensing rules and procedures.

  • Must be at least 18 years and possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience(s) working with children preferred
  • Must possess or attain within 90 days of hire the following certifications: CPR‑Pro, AED, First Aid, Shaken Baby Certifications
  • At least 80 hours of Early Childhood classes with documentation OR completed at least 6 credits in elementary education, child guidance, or child development
  • Willing to learn or has knowledge of state licensing for Group Child Care and Youngstar
  • Complete staff file requirements and documents within specified timeframe
