Job summary

Family Service Association - Fall River is hiring enthusiastic Group Leaders for its after-school daycare program in Fall River, MA. The role starts at $17 per hour and is part-time during the school year (17.5 hours/week) and full-time during the summer (up to 35 hours/week), with a $500 sign-on bonus.

You will create a safe, engaging after-school environment and plan age-appropriate activities. The ideal candidate is at least 18, meets education/experience requirements, and can pass CORI/SORI

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and pass CORI/SORI and fingerprinting checks.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree with at least 3 months experience with school-age children, or 6 months with HS diploma.
• Nine months experience with school-age children including three months of supervised experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children and maintain a safe, structured program environment.
• Actively engage with children through play, conversation and activities to support positive relationships and participation.
• Plan and implement daily activities with support from Assistant Group Leaders.
• Complete lesson plans and program documents on time with input from all group members.
• Support team organization, including goal sheets, progress reports and time sheets.
• Ensure injuries and incidents are documented in a timely manner.
• Submit supply requests as needed.
• Communicate updates and information to team members.
• Attend staff meetings and training as required.
• Maintain equipment and daycare property.
• Communicate absences in a timely manner according to program expectations.
• Maintain a professional and respectful approach with children, families and staff.
• Report significant behaviors to the Jr Site Coordinator or Social Worker.

The Group Leader is responsible for creating and leading a safe, supportive, and engaging after-school environment for children. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities while working collaboratively with Assistant Group Leaders to foster positive experiences that encourage children’s growth, participation, and social development.

*The school year hoursareMondaythroughFriday2:00p.m.-5:30p.m.The 35hour schedule duringsummer andschoolbreaks is TBD based on program needs.

The ideal candidate must be 18 years of age and meet oneof the following requirements:

• Have a Bachelor’s Degree or an Associates Degree and have three months experience working with school age children, or;
• Have a High School Diploma or equivalent and have six months experience working with school age children including three months of supervised experience at a school age child care program, or;
• Have nine months experience with school age children including three months of supervised experience at a school age child care program.

**Must be able to pass a CORI/SORI and fingerprinting check.
