Job summary

Astemo Ltd. is seeking a Group Lead to supervise a production line in a fast-paced warehouse setting. You will coordinate with manufacturing engineering, maintenance and quality teams to ensure safe, efficient operations and on-time output.

The role requires hands-on leadership, communication of daily activities, and the ability to troubleshoot quality issues while maintaining a clean, organized environment and meeting production goals. Shift: F Friday–Sunday 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with production lines and shift supervision.
  • Ability to read work orders and prepare simple reports.
  • Basic math for production measurements and counts.
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain control over the production line while coordinating with Mfg. Eng, Maintenance and Quality.
  • Communicate daily production activities to Supervisors.
  • Troubleshoot product quality and performance issues.
  • Keep the production line safe, clean and organized.
  • Overtime may be required to meet production goals and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO14000 & TS16949 procedures and work instructions.
  • Monitor reports on production, scrap and downtime; record through checks.

Shift/s Available For This Position

F shift (Friday through Sunday) 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Essential Functions
  • Maintaining control over the production line at all times which may require close interaction with Mfg. Engineering, Maintenance and Quality.
  • Ensure all daily production activities are thoroughly communicated to Supervisors.
  • May be required to perform tasks associated with troubleshooting product quality and performance.
  • Maintain the production line in a safe, neat, clean and organized environment.
  • Assist as needed on the production line.
  • Respect work hours, support production goals and time-tables, which may require overtime.
  • Ensures the following:
  • Utilizing knowledge of ISO14000 & TS16949 ensures all associates follow procedures and work instructions
  • All production, scrap, and down time reports are completed properly and timely.
  • Product and/or component dimensions are checked via in-process inspection check sheets with use of various indicators and gauges as described in procedures or work instructions.
  • Equipment is monitored for unusual sounds, movements or appearance that may indicate problems. Addresses any abnormalities.
  • Changing of simple parts and fixtures to facilitate changeover of product types.
  • Visually and manually check for defects in product or workmanship.
  • Recording of process equipment settings and conditions using equipment verification check sheets.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Demonstrated leadership skills required.
  • Three (3) years manufacturing experience with preference in equipment assembly or high speed equipment operation.
  • Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Sufficient Manual dexterity to operate machines properly.
  • Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect parts products.
  • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
  • Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently.
Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, push, pull, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

This position works in a warehouse/production environment. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment.
