ASTEMO AMERICAS, INC. is seeking a CNC Operator for our E shift, Mon-Thu, 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., in a warehouse/production setting.

You will audit process control docs, enforce safety and quality policies, and support continuous improvement efforts across operations. The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, 5 years of manufacturing experience (preferably in equipment assembly or high-speed operation), and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • 5 years manufacturing experience, preference in equipment assembly or high-speed operation.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders and prepare simple reports.
  • Basic math skills and good manual dexterity.
  • Sufficient visual acuity to read instructions and inspect parts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate changeover activities and audit for accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot process issues to mitigate downtime.
  • Ensure production areas are safe, neat, and organized.
  • Record process equipment settings accurately on check sheets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Audit/verify process control documents for completion and accuracy.
  • Enforce all organizational initiatives, to include safety and quality policies.
  • Coordinate training activities and audit effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot process issues as a means of mitigating downtime.
  • Ensure production areas are safe, neat, clean, and well organized.
  • Coordinate changeover activities and audit for accuracy and accountability purposes.
  • Respect work hours, support production goals and timetables, which may require overtime.
  • Ensures the following: Utilizing knowledge of ISO14001 & TS16949 ensures all associates follow procedures and work instructions
  • All production, scrap, and down time reports are completed properly and timely.
  • Product and/or component dimensions are checked via in-process inspection check sheets with use of various indicators and gauges as described in procedures or work instructions.
  • Equipment is monitored for unusual sounds, movements or appearance that may indicate problems. Addresses any abnormalities.
  • Monitors changing of simple parts and fixtures to facilitate changeover of product types.
  • Visually and manually check for defects in product or workmanship.
  • Accuracy of recording of process equipment settings and conditions using equipment verification check sheets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills required.
  • Five (5) years manufacturing experience with preference in equipment assembly or high-speed equipment operation.
  • Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Sufficient Manual dexterity to operate machines properly.
  • Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect parts products.
  • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent standing and walking.
  • Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, push, pull, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere from 10 to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works in a warehouse/production environment. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment.
