Position Summary
This role has direct responsibility for planning and supervising all activities related to inventory control, wave planning, receiving, and returns for Glenmark’s distribution operations.
Overall Job Responsibilities
- Oversee inventory control operations ensuring accurate records, timely replenishment, and efficient storage of products.
- Identify causes of issues and implement process improvements.
- Keep abreast of changes in inventory control best practices to educate staff and update policies.
- Collaborate with Finance and Supply Chain teams to ensure accurate inventory reporting.
- Review inventory counts and accuracy of balances.
- Create and manage wave plans in Manhattan Associates WMS for optimal order picking and shipping.
- Prioritize orders based on customer requirements, inventory levels, and schedules.
- Coordinate with warehouse supervisors and teams for smooth wave plan execution.
- Track KPIs related to wave planning and order fulfillment, and identify areas for improvement.
- Resolve issues related to wave planning, order picking, and shipping.
- Maintain and update WMS configurations to support efficient processes.
- Implement process improvements and best practices to optimize warehouse operations.
- Document processes in SOP format and maintain these documents.
- Understand Distribution Center capacity to communicate risks of workload surpassing capacity.
- Support DC operations as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels in real-time to prevent shortages and take corrective actions.
- Work with customer service, shipping, and receiving departments to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
- Train and delegate tasks to warehouse associates involved in wave planning, receiving, and inventory control.
- Oversee receiving operations, ensuring proper handling, record-keeping, and organization.
- Manage returns process, ensuring adherence to policies and proper documentation.
- Ensure inbound containers are unloaded safely and on time, with proper inspection for damages and shortages.
- Assign inbound products to correct storage locations.
- Coordinate with drayage vendors and alert management of inbound issues.
- Identify and implement improvements in receiving and returns processes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- HS Diploma or Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3-5 years of experience in Receiving, Distribution, Operations, or Wave Planning.
- Understanding of warehouse operations including picking, packing, and shipping.
- Experience working with carrier vendors and MHE vendors.
- Technical skills in Excel, SAP, Outlook, and Voice Picking Technology.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and GMP compliance.
- Proficiency in Manhattan Associates WMS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Demands
- Work typically in an office environment using computers and phones.
- May encounter interruptions; required to sit, talk, hear, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
