Group Lead - Inventory Control, Wave Planning, Receiving and Returns

POSITION SUMMARY
This role has direct responsibility for the planning and supervision all activities related to inventory control, wave planning and receiving and returns for Glenmark’s distribution operations.
OVERALL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Oversee inventory control operations ensuring accurate records, timely replenishment, and efficient storage of product
- Identify causes of issues and implement process improvements
- Keep abreast of changes in inventory control best practices in order to educate staff and issue policy changes
- Work with Finance and Supply Chain teams to ensure accurate reporting of inventory
- Review inventory counts and balance accuracy
- Create and manage wave plans in Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management System (WMS) to ensure optimal order picking and shipping efficiency
- Monitor and prioritize orders based on customer requirements, inventory levels, and shipping schedules
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors, inventory control, and shipping teams to ensure smooth execution of wave plans
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to wave planning and order fulfilment, identifying areas for improvement
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to wave planning, order picking, and shipping
- Maintain and update WMS configurations and settings to support efficient wave planning processes
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance warehouse operations
- Ensure any process executed in the Order Fulfilment Planning OPS is documented in SOP format and maintain the SOPs going forward.
- Understanding Distribution Center Fulfilment capacity to communicate risks when the workload surpasses the capacity
- Provide support to the DC Operation when necessary
- Monitoring real-time inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock is available for upcoming waves, identifying potential shortages, and taking corrective actions.
- Working closely with other departments like customer service, shipping, and receiving to ensure smooth order fulfilment and address any issues arising during the wave planning process.
- Direct, train, and delegate tasks to warehouse associates involved in Wave Planning, receiving and inventory control
- Oversee receiving operations by handling stock, implementing record-keeping procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized receiving area
- Manage returns operations ensuring the returns process adheres to company policies, procedures, and documentation requirements
- Ensure all inbound containers are unloaded safely and timely upon receipt
- Ensure all inbound products are properly inspected for damages and shortages
- Ensure all inbound products are correctly assigned to bin location for storage, replenishment and picking functions
- Work with Drayage vendor, alerting Distribution Management and Demand Planning of inbound issues
- Identify areas for improvement in receiving and returns processes and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education
Experience
- 3-5 Years of progressive Receiving / Distribution/ Operations /Wave Planning experience
- Understanding of warehouse operations, including picking, packing, and shipping processes
Knowledge and Skills
- Working with Carrier Vendors, MHE Vendors
- Technical capacity with Excel, SAP, Outlook and Voice Picking Technology
- Pharmaceutical Regulatory statues, GMP compliance
- Proficient in Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify bottlenecks and optimize wave planning strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
