Job summary

Andrews Laser Works in Wilder, KY is seeking a Group Lead for the Finishing department. This role guides a team, prioritizes work by the schedule, and coordinates workflow to meet daily production goals.

The Group Lead reports to a supervisor, maintains safety and quality standards, and supports the team with PPE, tooling, and clear work instructions. Travel for training may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum One Year of experience in the Finishing department.
• GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and distribute work in group by order schedule
• Coordinate workflow to meet daily production goals
• Report status of jobs to Supervisor at least daily
• Effectively utilize personnel skillsets in finishing to complete work efficiently
• Serve as pro-active employee support to team members. This includes but is not limited to ensuring all employees in Finishing have the proper PPE, tooling, and work instructions
• Ensure all 6S initiatives are understood and completed by all Finishing Employees
• Ensure all personnel adhere to safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties of greater or lesser complexity as required by the position or assigned by supervision
• Operate equipment and complete normal job duties when not engaged in Lead activities. (Lead duties should not consume more than 20% of time)
• Occasional travel required for training

Position Summary

The Group Lead, in addition to performing normal duties in their job classifications, takes a leadership role guiding and directing work to a team of an assigned work area. Daily and weekly instruction and priorities are established and communicated by direct supervisor.
