Job summary

Astemo Ltd. is seeking a Group Lead for the Steering Machining Department to supervise daily shop-floor production, optimize CNC machining processes, and ensure alignment with quality and safety standards. The role requires leadership, hands-on machining knowledge, and the ability to read GD&T and CMM reports.

The position emphasizes training of production staff, process troubleshooting, and maintaining ISO/IATF compliance while meeting output targets in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with machining or high-speed equipment.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Ability to read and interpret CMM reports, GD&T, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with quality control, inspection tools, and geometric tolerancing.
• Able to read work instructions and complete basic production reports.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily production activities on the shop floor, ensuring quality, safety, and output targets.
• Troubleshoot and improve machining processes to maintain efficiency and product quality.
• Perform tool changes on CNC equipment including hobbing, grinding, milling, and turning.
• Train production associates to safely operate CNC machinery and related systems.
• Monitor production output, scrap, and downtime; complete reports on time.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14000 standards.
