Group Home Supported Community Living Specialist

Join us at Nishna Productions, Inc. as a Group Home Supported Community Living Specialist.

Job Details

Location: Sidney, IA

Schedule: Monday-Wednesday 3:30pm-10:30pm, every other weekend 8:30am-10:30pm

This full-time position is eligible for a hire-on bonus. The Specialist reports directly to the Team Leader and the Director of Residential Services.

Responsibilities
  • Teach, train, and assist individuals in developing independence in daily activities, health, and community participation.
  • Assist with personal care, medication management, budgeting, and advocacy.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Intervention Plans and monitor progress.
  • Provide transportation and support in community activities.
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with regulations.
  • Train new staff and participate in meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in teaching life skills preferred.
  • Valid Iowa Chauffeur’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Successful completion of physical, TB, and drug screenings, and a 10-hour med-management class.
  • Ability to work with individuals with behavioral challenges and biological fluids.
  • Good communication skills, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
  • No convictions of assault, abuse, or bodily injury.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to travel up to 70 miles, work full shifts, and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, assisting with transfers, and household chores.
