Job summary

Rite of Passage is seeking a Group Home Supervisor for Childhelp, Alice C. Tyler Village in Lignum, Virginia to oversee daily living programs and supervise Youth Care Workers. The role focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment and collaborating with staff to implement each youth’s treatment plan.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology or equivalent experience, ability to pass background checks, and a schedule Mon-Fri with rotating on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology and two years of professional experience working with children, one year in a residential facility.
• High school diploma or equivalent with at least five years of professional experience working with children, including at least 2 years in a residential facility.
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.

Responsibilities

• Develop the daily living program within each cottage.
• Train and supervise Youth Care Workers and collaborate with staff to meet each youth’s treatment goals.
• Report to the Director of Group Living.

Childhelp is a psychiatric residential treatment facility that specializes in the treatment of children aged 5-14 with mild to severe trauma or neglect, psychiatric disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Pay: Salary based on education, experience and qualifications. Starting at $58,240

What you will do:

• Group Home Supervisors have the responsibility for the development of the daily living program within each cottage.
• Group Home Supervisors will be responsible for the training and supervision of the Youth Care Workers within their cottage, provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the needs of the youth, work in collaboration with other professional staff to establish and/or meet the goals of each youth’s treatment plan and perform standard level paraprofessional work in every aspect of the program operations.
• This position reports to the Director of Group Living.

To be considered you should:

• Be at least 21 years of age ~ A bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology & two years of professional experience working with children one year of which must have been in a residential facility for children OR a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five years professional experience working with children with at least 2 years in a residential facility for children OR a combination of education and experience working with children as approved by the department ~ 1-Year Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.

Schedule: Monday- Friday, varied shifts based on operational need. Rotating on call shifts for weekend and holidays are required.
