Job summary

Life Inc in Wilson, North Carolina, is seeking a Direct Support Professional for a part-time 3rd shift to assist and monitor clients with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, and meals. You will also help with housekeeping, transportation, and community outings, while maintaining safety and data collection practices.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist and monitor clients with self-care tasks such as dressing, bathing, and toileting.
• Assist with meals and ensure proper dining practices.
• Support housekeeping tasks including clothing care and household chores.
• Assist with medication administration as prescribed (no error).
• Participate in data collection and follow safety procedures.
• Communicate client information to supervisory staff as needed.
• Transport clients in company vehicles and accompany them on community outings.
• Support clients during school and day program activities.
• Other duties as assigned by managers.

Shift Details

Part Time 3rd Shift

Responsibilities

• Assist and monitor clients while dressing, bathing, toileting, and in all other aspects of self-care.
• Assist and monitor clients during meals to ensure utilization of family style dining.
• Assist and monitor clients in all aspects of housekeeping responsibilities (Clothing care, house cleaning, and yard care).
• Assist and monitor clients in preparing meals and nutritional supplements.
• Assist and monitor clients in the administration of prescribed medication without error.
• Assist and monitor clients in the implementation of prescribed diet orders and utilization of adaptive equipment
• Implement and follow all established behavior programs, data collection, and established safety procedures.
• Assist and monitor clients in appropriate active treatment including training objective plans, recording data, and implementing service goals.
• Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team and to communicate appropriate clients information as directed by supervisory staff.
• Transport and monitor clients on Company vehicles as directed.
• Assist and monitor clients during community outings.
• Assist and monitor clients during participation at school and day program activities.
• Other duties as assigned by managers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
• NC Driver's License
• 21 years of age or older
• No experience required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work well with others, be self-motivated.
• Display strong oral and written communication skills.
• Possess problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and be reached by phone
• Physical Strength: Able to lift or move up to 40 lbs or more.
• Ability to perform MANDT, CPR, and First Aid techniques.
• Daily contact with body fluids, cleaning agents, and general household equipment.
