Job summary

Elwyn New Jersey is hiring a Group Home Counselor to provide supervision, guidance, and skill-building for individuals with developmental disabilities in residence or program sites. You will support daily living activities, health, safety, and social engagement.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. On-site onboarding, background checks, and driving responsibilities are part of the job, with comprehensive

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in related field or with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Non-profit human service experience highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must have CPR, first aid, and safety care crisis prevention and intervention techniques.
• Must possess a current, valid driver's license and have driving experience in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and guidance to individuals per support plan toward outcomes.
• Perform housekeeping, meal prep, and laundry tasks daily.
• Transport individuals to sites and community activities.
• Administer medications per protocols and inventory meds.
• Maintain confidentiality and complete required documentation.
• Attend staff meetings and adhere to policies and training.
