Job summary

Texas HCS Inc. is seeking a Direct Care Supervisor to oversee direct support staff in Beaumont, TX. This full-time role reports to the Director of Residential Services and collaborates with the RN, ensuring quality care in group homes.

The position requires coordinating staff schedules, hiring activities, and maintaining daily communication with leadership. Benefits include health insurance after 90 days, a 401(k) after 1 year, and vacation accrual beginning immediately.

Qualifications

• Valid and current Texas Driver’s License.
• Clear Background Check.
• Clear DMV Check.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• No confirmation of Abuse/Neglect/Exploitation of an elderly or disabled person.
• No history of Medicaid fraud.
• Experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (group home experience preferred).
• Experience supervising group homes and caregiver staff.
• Strong communication and team‑participation skills; friendly, positive attitude.
• General computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, internet navigation).

Responsibilities

• Coordinating the schedule of group home direct support staff in all group homes throughout the 7‑day week; preparing the schedule in Microsoft Excel each week, 3 weeks in advance.
• Coordinating and assisting caregiver staff with purchasing groceries, over‑the‑counter medications, fuel for vehicles, and household supplies and decorations.
• Communicating daily with the Director of Direct Support Services regarding issues and concerns related to group homes and caregiver staff, and implementing the Director’s instructions to address those concerns.
• Hiring: posting ads, screening and selecting caregivers, and assisting with all new‑hire onboarding, orientation, and initial training.
• Coordinating with Maintenance Specialist to facilitate proper maintenance in homes (e.g., reporting problems, arranging repair work).
• Performing rounds at group homes to monitor the efforts of Direct Support Staff, ensuring overall home cleanliness, quality interactions, adherence to diets and special instructions, and compliance with medication pass and related procedures.
• Ongoing follow‑up visits to confirm that Direct Support Staff demonstrate all required skills thoroughly and effectively.
• Co‑ordinating with the Nurse and Director to determine medical appointment instructions for the upcoming day and resolving scheduling conflicts.
• Planning and monitoring recreational activities and providing support to Direct Support Staff as needed.
• Reporting all issues and concerns to the Director of Direct Support Services and/or Nurse, and implementing all related instructions to resolve problems.
• Being on call to address group home issues as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
