Job summary

Easterseals Rehabilitation Center in Evansville, IN seeks a Group Home Assistant Manager to support eight group homes serving individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. You will provide personal and medical care, supervise direct care staff, and assist with administration and activities in the community.

The role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication, with after-hours availability and a commitment to quality care and staff development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities or related degree/certificate.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding care to clients in daily living and medical tasks.
• Develop relationships with Direct Care Staff and support retention.
• Assist Group Home Manager with administration, finances, equipment, and doctor appointments.
• Plan and participate in client activities and community outings.
• Be available for after-hours support and call-ins.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

• Provide outstanding care to all clients by assisting with personal care, medical care, and daily living skills.
• Develop meaningful relationships with all Direct Care Staff and build retention strategies to support staff members.
• Support Group Home Manager by participating in Group Home administration duties, such as assisting with financial statements, maintaining medical equipment, and assisting with client doctor appointments.
• Have fun planning and participating in our client's favorite activities and going on outings in the community!
• Maintain availability to assist with after-hours support and call-ins.

Additionally, you will support both our clients by providing direct care, including assisting with personal hygiene and hands‑on care, and our direct care staff by assisting with the day‑to‑day operations within the group home.
