Job Title: Group Home Administrator

Reports to: VP: Residential Programs

Job Summary

The Residential Administrator is responsible for the overall development, operation, and maintenance of the residential Hanna Center program.

Essential Functions
  • Always follows Hanna Center policies and procedures.
  • Maintain punctuality and adheres to assigned work hours.
  • Oversees onboarding and ongoing training for Youth Counselors (YC), including but not limited to medication protocols, UIRs, quarterly trainings, First Aid/CPR, NCI, and other residential program requirements.
  • Serves as the Site Administrator for Group Homes.
  • Oversees scheduling for all group home program youth counselors, in collaboration with the group home coordinators.
  • Oversees Support Coordinators and their schedules
  • Ensures that sleepovers and pagers are fulfilled
  • Fulfills daytime pager and may be required to fulfill overnight pager based on program needs
  • Works with Clinical director , the Institute in formulating and scheduling Inservice training.
  • Assist in ongoing training and ensure that YCs are being trained to standard.
  • Assist in facilitating coordinator meetings
  • Manages the administrative duties of Group Home Coordinators and collaborates with program leaders.
  • Works with Senior Director of Residence and Director of Transition Programs and Alumni Relations
  • Collaborate with Transitional Housing Programs
  • Collaborates with Hanna Academy and NPS Residential
  • Works with the Associate Director of Recreation to develop neurological afternoon activities and evening Group Home recreation programs.
  • Provides guidance to personnel on resident behavior management concerns.
  • Observes and evaluates the job performance of Group Home and Support Coordinators.
  • Works with Hanna Center HR Director to recommend promotions, salary adjustments, and dismissals.
  • Participates in screening and interviewing Youth Counselor candidates.
  • Works with the VP of Finance and Senior Director of Residence to prepare and monitor the department budget.
  • Assists in developing new residential programs.
  • Oversees on-call overnight coverage and assists with night security.
  • Provides emergency medical intervention as needed.
  • Leads the development and implementation of the NPS Residential program.
  • Collaborates with the Mental Health Hub Director and Academy Principal for NPS Residential intake.
  • Manages medication administration across residential programs.
  • Creates and updates residential policies and procedures in collaboration with the Mental Health Hub Director, Senior Director of Residence, and Academy Principal.
  • Ensures compliance with licensing bodies, California Alliance, and Joint Commission Representatives.
  • Preforms other related duties as assigned within the department’s scope.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must obtain and maintain a Group Home Site Administrator Certificate.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills to manage and de-escalate conflicts among staff, families, and residents.
  • Ability to collaborate with treatment and support leaders and actively participate in the Youth Service Committee.
  • Strong leadership skills to address personnel challenges within the residential department.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and enforce policies and procedures for program consistency.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to make independent judgments in complex situations.
  • Ability to delegate authority efficiently.
  • Knowledge and readiness to implement Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) models and practices.
  • Leadership skills in team building and staff development.
  • Basic knowledge of child development.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in social sciences (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum five years of experience in a residential setting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a residential care or group home setting.
  • Willingness to pursue ongoing professional and personal development.

  • Promotes inclusive, equitable practices and supports a culturally responsive care environment.
Comments
  • Must pass a background check for a Community Care Licensed facility, including a physical exam, TB test, and drug test.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods, perform repetitive hand/wrist movements for computer and phone tasks, and navigate staircases.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
  • Work environment consists primarily of an office setting with desk and computer terminal tasks.
