Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks an Exercise Specialist in Clyde, NC to support community health through supervision and instruction at our Health & Fitness Center.

The role emphasizes teaching exercise techniques, adhering to ACSM safety guidelines, and maintaining a safe floor environment for members, patients, and guests. PRN scheduling and affiliation with a 54,000 sq ft facility highlight opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Current certification in Group Exercise within 30 days of hire (e.g., NETA, AFAA, AAAI-ISMA).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• American Red Cross CPR, AHA BLS, or AHA CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of health and fitness preferred.
• At least one year of work experience in wellness, health promotion, health club, university and/or community recreation, or hospital fitness preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teaches fundamental techniques and components using discussion, demonstration, repetitive practice, and integration of component skills into overall activity goals.
• Adheres to ACSM guidelines for safe exercise participation.
• Monitors the exercise floor creating a pleasant and safe area for members.
