Job summary

Sagewell is looking for a dedicated group fitness leader to join its medical fitness program at locations in Greensboro and Eden, NC, helping members improve health regardless of fitness level or medical condition.

You will guide safe classes, educate participants on form and anatomy, ensure equipment safety, adapt sessions for all abilities, and keep the studio clean and welcoming. Required: high school diploma and nationally accredited certification with CPR/BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Nationally accredited certification (ACE/ACSM/AFAA/Yoga Alliance) with CPR/BLS.
• Experience leading group fitness for diverse populations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe and effective group exercise classes for participants.
• Educate participants on proper form, anatomy, and exercise modifications.
• Ensure safety of participants when using fitness equipment.
• Adapt classes to meet varying fitness abilities.
• Maintain cleanliness of the studio and facilities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Job Function

• Helps lead safe and effective group exercise classes to improve participant health.
• Assists with educating participants on the proper form, anatomy, and modifications of exercise moves to promote safety and effectiveness of exercises.
• Ensures the safety of participants while using the facility’s fitness equipment.
• Adapts classes to meet the varying needs of fitness ability to ensure that all participants are benefiting from the class.
• Maintains cleanliness of the group fitness studio to uphold a positive reputation with customers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

Licensure/Certification/Listing

• Required: A nationally accredited certification from a recognized organization or equivalent specialty certification such as ACE, ACSM, AEA, WaterArt, IFTA, AFAA, or Yoga AllianceBLS/CPR certified by the American Red Cross of AHA Healthcare provider
