YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City in Edmond is seeking a part-time Group Exercise Instructor. This role involves instructing group fitness classes while ensuring the safety and engagement of participants. Qualifications
Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School education or equivalent preferred.
6 months or 60 hours of practical experience in group exercises.
Must be able to lift in excess of ten pounds.
Responsibilities
Instruct group exercise classes and related classes.
Ensure participant safety by enforcing standards and guidelines.
Record class attendance accurately.
Maintain current certifications and attend mandatory meetings.
Build positive relationships with fitness program participants.
Skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to lead and motivate others
Knowledge of muscle groups and body mechanics
Ability to demonstrate exercise techniques
CPR/First Aid certified
Education
High School education or equivalent
YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification
