Qualifications

• Must be CPRPR/AED/O2 and First Aid certified (Y provides training)
• Must be at least 18 years old
• High School education or equivalent preferred
• 6 months or 60 hours of group exercise class experience
• YMCA Healthy Lifestyles and YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise or National Certification
• Within 6 months of hire date - Healthy Lifestyles; within 12 months - YMCA Foundations

Responsibilities

• Instruct group exercise classes; arrive 5 minutes early and stay 5 minutes after class
• Keep class attendance records
• Maintain current certifications and safety standards
• Notify supervisor and arrange substitute instructor with 24 hours notice when needed
• Attend mandatory association Health and Fitness meetings and staff meetings
• Assist with YMCA events and maintain positive member relations
