Job summary

YMCA of Central New Mexico is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to lead safe, engaging fitness classes and foster inclusive participation. You will connect with members, tailor sessions to diverse health needs, and promote healthy living within the community.

Responsibilities include building relationships, maintaining accurate attendance, and following YMCA policies. A certification in group fitness and CPR/First Aid/AED is required.

Qualifications

• National certification in group fitness instruction (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) or YMCA group exercise instructor certification required.
• Certification in area of expertise required.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.
• Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Creates a safe environment where all individuals feel welcomed and respected; build relationships with and among members and program participants.
• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes aligned with healthy living program goals.
• Adjusts approach to support participants’ diverse health needs and cultural backgrounds.
• Answers questions with empathy to help members achieve health and wellness goals.
• Identifies and celebrates member successes and progress.
