Job summary

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required or equivalent.
• National certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) in group fitness instruction or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification.
• At least one year of experience teaching group wellness classes.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, safe, and educational group classes as directed by the supervisor.
• Answer questions and support participants in achieving health and wellness goals.
• Maintain knowledge of wellness trends to provide effective information to members.
• Build authentic relationships with members and help them connect with the YMCA.
• Adjust approach to meet participants' capabilities, conditions, and culture.
• Celebrate participant achievements related to goals and skills.
• Keep accurate class attendance records.
• Follow YMCA policies and procedures; respond to emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
