Job summary

The Flatbush YMCA, a branch of the YMCA of Greater New York, seeks a Group Exercise Instructor to design and deliver safe and engaging classes while providing excellent hospitality to members. The role requires prior group exercise experience, current CPR/First Aid, and YMCA or national certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience leading fitness classes.
• Current adult CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Current National Group Exercise certifications (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, or YMCA).
• Knowledge of healthy living principles and member wellness.
• Must attend YMCA hospitality training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver safe, fun, dynamic group exercise classes.
• Provide outstanding hospitality to members and guests and address their needs.
• Greet participants before class and help acclimate newcomers.
• Inspect equipment and ensure safety, reporting repairs as needed.
• Maintain class attendance records and participate in training sessions.
