The City of Edgewater is looking for passionate part-time Fitness Instructors to lead and supervise fitness classes for adults and seniors. SUMMARY
Do you have a passion for teaching fitness in your community? The City of Edgewater is seeking part-time Fitness Instructor(s) to supervise and instruct community members in any of the following categories of fitness and wellness-based programing: strength/circuit/HIIT training, yoga, or any other specialized fitness classes. The Fitness Instructor can design and lead programs for adults (18+) and/or seniors (55+). The program type, curriculum, age group, and class schedule will be determined with consideration for the instructor’s availability, skills, and expertise, while also aligning with community interest and participation. Our ideal candidate will be prepared, creative, and energized while providing a safe fitness environment. If hired, the candidate will have the option of joining the City of Edgewater as a part-time employee or be contracted as an external vendor.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
1) Must have legal authorization to work in the United States of America.
2) Submit and pass a pre-employment background check.
3) Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
4) Have a certification in group fitness from a national accredited organization and, if applicable, have a certificate in any additional specialized fitness instruction.
5) If contracting, the instructor must provide their own insurance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess or be able to obtain First Aid, CPR and AED Certification.

Effective audio-visual skills and perception needed for making observations, reading, writing, and communicating with others.
Most duties are performed in an outdoor environment. The incumbent will experience exposure to weather elements and temperatures, construction site risks, and automobile travel.
Ability to lift and carry items such as supplies and equipment, up to 50 pounds, on a frequent basis.
Ability to participate in and respond to routine conversation in person or via telephone, and distinguish telephone, printers, computers, and other auditory tones.
