This range is provided by Scott County Family YMCA. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range

$12.00/hr - $12.00/hr

Job Responsibilities

• Provide enjoyable, high-quality, and safe group exercise classes to YMCA members.
• Serve as a role model to members and staff, embodying the mission, vision, and values of the YMCA.
• Ensure safety by following best practices, reporting accidents or concerns immediately.
• Prepare all necessary equipment and supplies before classes and return them afterward.
• Maintain equipment and promote proper use to prevent damage and injury.
• Support members in building confidence to achieve health and wellness goals through questions and empathy.
• Stay updated with new exercise formats and ideas to keep classes dynamic and engaging.
• Track class attendance and foster relationships with participants.
• Participate in YMCA financial development efforts, including the Annual Campaign.
• Maintain relevant certifications and adhere to all policies and safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• YMCA/ACE, AFAA, or ACSM Group Fitness Certification or other specialized certifications (e.g., Les Mills, Zumba)
• Ability to pass a background check

Physical & Work Environment

Must be physically capable of performing routine fitness activities, including climbing, stooping, lifting, and repetitive motions. Work is primarily indoors, with exposure to moderate temperatures and equipment noise.
