Position Summary

The Group Fitness Instructor provides innovative group fitness instruction through a variety of engaging, educational, and fun classes that promote fitness and positive self-esteem in a safe environment. They serve as a fitness resource for class participants and maintain positive relationships with members to encourage ongoing attendance. The instructor is responsible for consistently achieving daily class attendance goals and effectively promoting Life Time's programs, products, and services.

As a Group Fitness Instructor at Life Time, you can instruct various formats, including:

1. Strength: LIFT, SHRED, MAXOUT
2. Cardio: XTREME, REMIXX
3. Boxing/Kickboxing: STRIKE
4. Barre: LIFE BARRE
5. Cycle: AMP, EDG, PWR
6. DANZE: Dance classes like Hip Hop, Latin Fusion, etc.
7. Yoga: SURRENDER YIN, ROOT HATHA, FLOW VINYASA
8. Other classes: ARORA, SGT, GTX, ULTRA FIT, ALPHA

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop positive relationships with class participants by teaching challenging and entertaining classes.
• Educate on correct form and alternative moves.
• Engage with members before and after classes, answering questions and fostering community.
• Maintain studio cleanliness and organization post-class.
• Provide current, motivating music that is appropriate for the class.
• Promote Life Time programs, products, and services to encourage participation.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of fitness instructor experience
• CPR/AED Certification
• Group Exercise Certification (NASM, ACE, AFAA, or AEA)
• Ability to perform aerobic activities for the duration of a class
• Ability to lift 50 pounds routinely and 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to perform exercises specific to the class
