The role emphasizes a safe, recovery-oriented environment, precise session documentation, and collaboration with the treatment team to advance individualized goals.

Qualifications

• Facilitate groups with typically 8-12 participants, in person.
• Deliver evidence-based curricula including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, Matrix Model, relapse prevention and Living in Balance.
• Lead psychoeducational topics: coping skills, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, stress management, medication education and addiction neuroscience.
• Facilitate process groups to encourage peer support, accountability and safe disclosure.
• Apply trauma-informed, culturally responsive, person-centered practices in every session.
• Manage group dynamics including conflict, disruptive behavior and members in acute distress.

Responsibilities

• Screen group members for risk (suicidal ideation, intoxication, withdrawal, harm to others) and escalate per protocol.
• Follow crisis-response and de-escalation procedures; complete incident reports within 24 hours.
• Support use of standardized measures (PHQ-9, GAD-7, BAM) as directed.
• Reinforce treatment plan goals and relapse-prevention plans within group work.
• Attend treatment team meetings, case reviews and clinical supervision.
• Coordinate with counselors, prescribers, case managers and peer specialists on client progress.
• Help develop, review and update group curricula and materials.
• Support client orientation, intake into groups, and transitions between levels of care.
• Complete required trainings and continuing education to keep credentials current.
