Job summary

Marietta Springs LLC seeks a Group Facilitator to lead diverse therapy groups, maintain therapeutic environments, and support clients through recovery programs. You will deliver psychoeducational and skills-based sessions, including telehealth, while coordinating with clinicians to ensure treatment goals are met.

The role emphasizes engagement, safety, and accurate documentation in the electronic health record, with collaboration across care teams and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead scheduled group therapy sessions per program schedule.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational, process, skills-based, activity/recreational therapy, relapse prevention, and recovery support groups.
  • Create a safe, supportive environment that encourages participation and engagement.
  • Foster group discussion and healthy peer interactions.
  • Use motivational interviewing and evidence-based interventions to boost engagement.
  • Monitor group dynamics and address disruptive behaviors appropriately.
  • Build rapport with clients and encourage active participation in treatment.
  • Provide encouragement, support, accountability, and help clients set goals.
  • Document attendance, participation level, interventions, and client response in EHR.
  • Report significant clinical concerns or changes to the clinical staff.
  • Recognize signs of distress, decompensation, withdrawal, or relapse risk.
  • Use verbal de-escalation techniques to manage crises and maintain safety.
  • Notify clinical leadership of safety concerns and follow crisis procedures.
  • Facilitate virtual group sessions via telehealth platforms and verify client identity.
  • Maintain confidentiality and monitor client participation in virtual sessions.
  • Troubleshoot basic technology issues and report concerns to supervisors.
  • Ensure telehealth services comply with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, case consultations, and clinical supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with counselors, case managers, nursing staff, admissions personnel, and leadership.
  • Assist with coordination of client care and treatment planning.
  • Maintain professional boundaries, HIPAA compliance, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in trainings and staff development activities.
  • Perform other duties to support client care and program operations.

Job description

Group Facilitator
  • Facilitate and lead scheduled group therapy sessions in accordance with the program schedule.
  • Conduct a variety of group types, including:
    • Psychoeducational Groups
    • Process Groups
    • Skills-Based Groups
    • Activity/Recreational Therapy Groups
    • Relapse Prevention Groups
    • Recovery Support Groups
  • Create a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment that encourages participation and engagement.
  • Foster group discussion and promote healthy peer interactions.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing and evidence-based interventions to enhance treatment engagement.
  • Monitor group dynamics and address disruptive behaviors appropriately.
Client Engagement
  • Build rapport with clients and encourage active participation in treatment.
  • Provide encouragement, support, and accountability throughout the treatment process.
  • Assist clients in identifying treatment goals and applying recovery skills learned in group.
  • Communicate client concerns, progress, and barriers to the clinical team.
Clinical Documentation
  • Complete timely and accurate group notes in the electronic health record.
  • Document attendance, participation level, interventions utilized, and client response to treatment.
  • Ensure all documentation meets regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
  • Report significant clinical concerns, incidents, or changes in client status to appropriate clinical staff.
Crisis Intervention & Safety
  • Recognize signs of emotional distress, psychiatric decompensation, withdrawal complications, or relapse risk.
  • Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques to manage crises and maintain a safe therapeutic environment.
  • Immediately notify clinical leadership or nursing staff of safety concerns.
  • Follow organizational policies regarding suicide risk, self-harm, aggression, abuse/neglect reporting, and emergency response procedures.
Telehealth Services
  • Facilitate virtual group sessions through approved telehealth platforms.
  • Verify client identity and maintain confidentiality during telehealth sessions.
  • Monitor client participation and engagement in virtual programming.
  • Troubleshoot basic technology issues and communicate concerns to supervisors when necessary.
  • Ensure telehealth services are delivered in compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, case consultations, and clinical supervision as required.
  • Communicate effectively with counselors, case managers, nursing staff, admissions personnel, and leadership.
  • Assist with coordination of client care and treatment planning recommendations.
Additional Duties
  • Maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards.
  • Adhere to HIPAA, confidentiality, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in required trainings, continuing education, and staff development activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support client care and program operations.
