Job summary

Weigand Family YMCA is seeking a part-time Group Exercise Instructor to lead yoga classes at the Fort Wayne location. The role offers hourly pay and requires evening or daytime shifts as listed, working Tuesday/Thursday and Wednesday slots.

Applicants should be 18+, have a HS diploma, reliable transport, and relevant certifications (ACE/YMCA/ACSM/AFAA/NETA). A health/fitness degree is preferred and participation in YMCA programs is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of group exercise instruction experience preferred.
• Current certifications (ACE/YMCA, ACE, ACSM, AFAA, or NETA) required or in place.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups of people.

Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, safe, group exercise classes.
• Adhere to class structure and assist participants as needed.

Responsibilities

The Weigand Family YMCA is seeking enthusiastic and attentive part-time exercise instructors to join our team by connecting participants to one another and their wellness goals and fostering an atmosphere of small communities with fellow members by which the YMCA's mission can be fulfilled in a fun and healthy way.

• Connect: Build effective authentic relationships with members and help to connect them with each other.
• Serve:Adhere to appropriate and safe class structure, including all health and fitness components, and recognize when participants need assistance, acting promptly to help them.
• Inspire:Lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes as well as answer questions from participants to support them in their goals.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

• Minimum of 18 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• A degree in the health and fitness field is preferred.
• One year of group exercise instruction or equivalent preferred.
• Must have and maintain valid and current certifications outlined by position; certifications an include: ACE/YMCA, ACE, ACSM, AFAA, or NETA.
• Ability to relate to, welcome and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Salary: Part time, $12.44-$14.50 hourly

Hours Available: Tuesday & Thursday 12:30pm-1:30pm, Wednesday 5:30pm-6:15pm
