Job summary

Channel Islands YMCA in San Luis Obispo County is seeking a part-time Group Exercise Instructor to lead aerobics, mind-body, or basic fitness classes and promote programs to members.

Requirements include being 18+, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and a nationally recognized group exercise certification; complete certifications within 60 days of hire and branch trainings within two weeks; ability to obtain a criminal record clearance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Required certifications: Nationally Recognized Group Exercise Certification (ACE, NASM, ISSA, NETA, AFAA) and/or specialized format certification.
• Complete required certifications within 60 days of hire.
• Complete all required Branch and Position specific trainings within two weeks of hire.
• Ability to obtain a criminal record clearance.

Responsibilities

• Implement aerobics exercise, mind-body, or basic fitness classes.
• Teach fitness classes; develop fitness routines, exercises, and choreography for participants.
• Promote programs to members and participants.
• Record participant counts, distribute and collect program evaluations.
• Maintain minimum class attendance standard.
• Provide exceptional customer service and foster connections with members.
• Participating and satisfactory completion of in-service trainings.
