What You'll Be Doing
- Lead safe, engaging, and effective group exercise classes for participants of all fitness levels.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that encourages members to reach their wellness goals.
- Motivate, educate, and support participants throughout each class.
- Arrive early to set up equipment and greet members before class begins.
- Build positive relationships with members and help connect them to the YMCA community.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fitness space.
- Follow YMCA policies, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Attend required trainings and staff meetings while maintaining required certifications.

What We're Looking For
- Current nationally recognized Group Exercise Certification or the ability to obtain one within the timeframe established by the supervisor.
- Specialty certification(s) for the class formats you teach, as required.
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification, or the ability to obtain certification before employment.
- Passion for health, wellness, and helping others succeed.
- Strong communication and motivational skills.
- Ability to lead safe, engaging, and effective group fitness classes.
- Commitment to the YMCA's mission and core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
