Job summary

Channel Islands YMCA in Camarillo, CA is seeking an experienced Group Exercise Instructor for a part-time, on-site role. You will lead aerobics, mind-body, and fitness classes, develop routines, and promote programs to members.

The position requires 18+, a high school diploma or equivalent, and nationally recognized group exercise certification (ACE/NASM/ISSA/NETA/AFAA) or specialized formats. Certifications must be obtained within 60 days; trainings within two weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Nationally recognized group exercise certification (ACE, NASM, ISSA, NETA, AFAA) and/or specialized format certification (SilverSneakers, Zumba, LesMills, etc.).
• Complete required certifications within 60 days of hire.
• Complete all required Branch and Position trainings within two weeks of hire.
• Must be able to obtain a criminal record clearance.

Responsibilities

• Implement aerobics exercise, mind-body, or basic fitness classes.
• Teach fitness classes; develop fitness routines, exercises, and choreography for participants.
• Promote programs to members and participants.
• Record participant counts, distribute and collect program evaluations.
• Maintain minimum class attendance standard.
• Provide exceptional customer service and foster connections with members.
• Participate in and complete in-service trainings.

Education
