Responsibilities
Educate members on safe techniques and guidelines.
Greet and encourage all members, orient new participants, and answer questions.
Ensure proper setup and prepare to instruct class.
Start and finish class on time as scheduled.
Instruct class adapting to ability levels of participants.
Monitor participants for health issues during exercises.
Execute Emergency Procedures when needed.
Assist participants in achieving fitness goals.
Welcome back regular members who have been absent.
Notify supervisor if a regular member stops attending without explanation.
Store all equipment neatly and appropriately.
Document any equipment issues to the supervisor.
Attend instructor trainings and supervisor meetings.
Act as an ambassador for the YMCA showing professionalism in dress and behavior.

Responsibilities
Educate members on safe techniques and guidelines.
Greets and encourages all members and orients new participants. Be available before and after class to answer participants' questions.
Ensure proper set up and prepared to instruct class.
Starts and finishes class on time as scheduled.
Instructs class to the ability level of the students participating.
Monitors participants through perceived rate of exertion (i.e. faint, dizziness, chest pain, loss of color, etc.)
Executes the Emergency Procedures.
Works with participants to achieve fitness goals.
Be aware of regular members and welcome them back if they have been away.
If a regular member stops coming without explanation, notify your supervisor to discuss the best way to follow up with the member.
Stores all equipment neatly and appropriately.
Documents equipment problems to supervisor.
Attends instructor trainings and supervisor's meetings.
Acts as an ambassador for the YMCA through professional dress, attitude, communication and behavior. Promote the YMCA in a public forum.
Performs other job‑related duties as requested and necessary.
