As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will instruct group classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. You will be an integral part of the YMCA's commitment to strengthening bodies, minds, and neighborhoods.
Salary range starts at $20.00 per hour and includes a fitness pay plan.
We are currently looking for instructors to teach Silver Sneakers, Pilates, Zumba, and/or Yoga!

Scope of Responsibilities:
- Plan and instruct fitness classes following YMCA standards and guidelines, with a personalized approach
- Design and implement safe, effective, and enjoyable fitness programs tailored to members' needs
- Observe and discuss individual progress, develop rapport, and respond to fitness-related questions
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and progress
- Set up and take down class equipment, report issues
- Promote YMCA programs and motivate members for long-term participation
- Ensure safety during workouts, respond to incidents, and report problems
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions; maintain current certifications
- Support YMCA’s mission and center operations as needed
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of fitness or relevant work/education experience
- Experience with multiple fitness formats
- Minimum 25 hours of practical experience as a fitness instructor
- Ability to lead classes, motivate, and educate members
- Respond effectively to safety and emergency situations, handle equipment setup and storage
- Must be at least 18 years old
Child Abuse Prevention:
- Report hazards, suspicious behavior, and policy violations
- Follow all child safety policies and complete required training
