Job Details

Location: Onsite in Aurora, CO

Position: Group Exercise Instructor (Part-Time)

Job Summary: The Anschutz Health and Wellness Center (CU AHWC) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking hourly part-time Group Exercise Instructors for the Fitness Center, averaging 3 hours per week. The center aims to empower individuals to lead healthier lives through sustainable lifestyle changes. Instructors will lead over 40 group classes weekly, responsible for music, choreography, and certifications, providing quality fitness education and fostering an enjoyable atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide intensity options and educate participants on appropriate movements for their fitness levels.
  2. Teach scheduled classes punctually, including warm-up, exercises, stretching, and cool-down.
  3. Instruct on effective workout techniques, demonstrate exercises, and teach muscle group strengthening methods.
  4. Prepare equipment, music, and virtual technology for classes.
  5. Communicate customer and facility needs to management.
  6. Promote AHWC programs and share information with patrons.
  7. Deliver exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience teaching group fitness or personal training.
  • Certification in a specific fitness format or a nationally accredited Group Exercise Instructor certification.
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification at hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to teach various offerings and substitute as needed.
  • Degree in exercise-related field.
  • Experience with Zoom and online classes.

Compensation
