Our scale enables us to help clients develop and implement standardized solutions at any of their facilities, regardless of location or available local resources.

We are expanding and seeking a Controls Engineering Manager to support multiple projects and lead a growing team of engineers and technical staff, with dotted lines to sales and project management. This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to develop technical solutions and play a key role in growing a high-visibility business with significant growth potential. This position is remote with 30% travel required.

Required experience includes Building Management Systems, preferably in a new construction environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Executive Management, Sales, and Marketing to develop and execute a business growth plan.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff to build a strong project delivery team.
  • Design and implement integrated electrical and control systems.
  • Coordinate with engineering, design, production, and field service teams.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Oversee the profit and loss (P&L) of the team on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Specify and configure hardware components such as instrumentation, PLCs, communication systems, and industrial control panels.
  • Design and configure PLC/SCADA networks.
  • Create test procedures and documentation.
  • Meet with key clients to ensure expectations are met or exceeded and contribute to business growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8+ years in industrial automation and controls integration.
  • 3+ years in team management and leadership.
  • Knowledge of standard engineering practices and procedures.
  • Experience developing PLC and HMI programs (e.g., Schneider Electric, AVEVA, Rockwell).
  • Experience with process control instrumentation.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift at least 50 lbs, and navigate stairs or ladders.
